Acrylic Nail Designs

Acrylic is a popular form of nail extension. Liquid and powder nail extensions, more commonly known as acrylic nails, come in many forms besides the normal pink and white 'French tips'. Coloured powders now enable nail technicians to create permanent nail art, which will look perfect until the next maintenance appointment.

Coloured powders are mixed to create new colours and shades, glitters can be added to create glitter tips which will not wear or chip as enamels or polishes do. Acrylic is very versatile to work with and lots of different media can be embedded into it. Creative Ten supplies such media to nail technicians, giving clients a wide choice of what that wear on their nails. Media such as Skeleton Leaves, mother of pearl shapes, mille fiore, silver rings, open stars and open hearts which have a star or heart cut out of the middle, and the little star or heart can be used as part of the design.

Crushed shells are very popular as well as dried flowers. Dried flowers now come as tulips, or sprays as well as the regular flowers we already use. Other products that can be embedded are bullion beads, studs, pearls, flat stones and rhinestones. Creative Ten's gallery shows what sort of designs can be achieved by embedding using clear acrylic. Acrylic can also be sculpted on the nail to form shapes such as flowers, leaves, ladybirds, and snowmen. Coloured acrylics are usually used for this purpose and create a fantastic 3D effect on the nail.

Flowers look especially beautiful scattered on nails and being on top of the nail gives a depth to them that cannot be achieved by any other means. 3Dacrylic work is becoming more popular, as clients become more adventurous with their nails, and the addition of coloured acrylics makes it possible for a nail technician to really use some artistic flair to create stunning nails that are unique.
